Oragonlabs is an AI research lab developing mission-critical solutions that are sovereign and affordable for businesses, governments and everyday people in emerging markets. We research where the technology genuinely helps, then build it so it runs close to the people it serves: on their infrastructure, in their languages, at prices their economies sustain.

Intelligence should reach the people it was always supposed to help. That gap is the whole reason this lab exists.

Today's most powerful AI is trained, hosted and priced far from the people who need it most. For institutions in emerging markets, that distance is costly.

Your data crosses borders you never agreed to

Using frontier AI usually means sending citizen records, financial transactions and medical files to servers on another continent, under another jurisdiction's laws. For governments and regulated industries that is often not merely uncomfortable. It is illegal.

The infrastructure is a continent away

When the nearest data centre is thousands of kilometres from you, distance shows up as latency, fragility and dependence. When the nearest AI engineer is that far, it shows up as products that misread local context, languages and workflows.

AI priced for Silicon Valley is unaffordable at scale for a mid-size business or a public agency here, so adoption stalls exactly where the productivity gains would matter most.

How we do it

The future of AI isn't a bigger data centre. It's a smaller distance.

The industry's default answer to every AI problem is more compute, more scale, more cloud. We ask a different question: can we move less data instead of adding more compute?

The frontier of efficient AI is moving fast. Full language models now run on microcontrollers that cost less than a meal, generating tokens fully on-device with no internet, no server, and no data ever leaving the chip. Not by magic, but by rethinking where the model lives and how it's served.

On-device first

Models that run where the data is: on a hospital's server, a bank's rack, a field agent's device, not on a hyperscaler's continent. When intelligence lives locally, privacy, latency and sovereignty stop being trade-offs.
